After you select the difficulty level and a track, you can start preparing the territory for an incoming army of balloons. You have to look at the track and figure out where you can place monkey towers which will fire arrows and pop the incoming balloons. This is your single weapon for the first levels, but soon you will receive large canon balls, faster monkey towers, ice towers and much more. After you place your equipment, you can hit the start button and the balloons will slowly enter the screen. If this is going too slow, you can press the fast forward button. A great thing about Bloons Tower Defense 4 is that if you notice that some territory is not properly protected, you can add towers and weapons without stopping the game. Also, you will earn money for each balloon you pop and the amount can be spent on other weapons. Each balloon that reaches the end of the stage will cost you one life, so be careful. If you manage to survive for more than 10 or so levels, you will notice that some of the balloons are getting stronger and faster. In fact, you might even run into steel balloons which can't be popped by a simple monkey tower.
